Portfolio Management

Most significant collections are assembled, not planned. Pieces arrive from different places over decades, live in different places after that, and are documented inconsistently or not at all. Insurance schedules go stale. Nobody is entirely certain what anything is currently worth. Some of it has not been cleaned in twenty years.

Portfolio management resolves all of that in a single pass, and returns the collection to you catalogued, serviced, appraised and insurable.

The five stages

1 · Collection. Insured white-glove transport, from wherever the pieces currently sit. The collection is secured and accounted for throughout.

2 · Documentation. Every piece inspected, photographed and catalogued — stones, metals, hallmarks, condition.

3 · Service. Cleaning, and any repair the pieces need — prongs, clasps, rhodium — carried out before valuation rather than after it.

4 · Independent appraisal. Third-party certified appraisers establish current replacement value. Independent by design: I do not appraise what I am custodian of.

5 · Return. Everything comes back to you catalogued, appraised, insurable and properly housed — digitally and physically.

Who this is for

Clients with an inherited collection that has never been established. Collectors whose insurance documentation has not kept pace with what they own. Families settling an estate. Anyone who has stopped being certain what is in the safe.

Storage

Packaging built to the collection rather than bought for it: travel cases, closet organizer trays, individual boxes. Materials, colors, sizes and quantities to specification, so the way a collection is stored matches the way it is actually used.

Safe and cabinet storage modules are also available.
